Barring any technical glitches, I’ll be attending Saturday’s offering. Hopefully, they’ll make a strong showing. WRESTLING: (n.) \’res-ling\ A sport of contest in which two individuals face off in unarmed combat. ANARCHY: (n.) \an-ar-key\ (1) A state of lawlessness due to absence of authority. (2) A complete lack of order. What happens when you mix the two together? NWA-Anarchy! - Welcome to NWA Anarchy Wrestling, this is PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING~! Last week on NWA Anarchy TV, Jeremy Vain afforded Mr. Rob Adonis the opportunity to prove his worthiness and he somehow redeemed himself against Mikael Judas. Judas earned the DQ victory when Vain interfered. In the tag division, the Wild Bunch tricked themselves into losing their opportunity to win the NWA Anarchy Tag Team Titles though they defeated the Devil’s Rejects by countout. John Johnson asks what kind of victory that is. I concur. Due to the Wild Bunch’s good showing, the NWA Anarchy hierarchy awarded them a rematch with the Rejects. Also, the Konkrete Gorillas (Jay Fury & Nemesis) destroyed two hapless jobbers until Shadow Jackson & Slim J made the save. In a partial rematch from Hardcore Hell, Slim J battles Jay Fury. - Not too long ago, the “Defender of the Certificate of Awesomeness” Chad Parham humiliated and tortured Japan’s finest wrestler. Yep, the same one who defeated every Japanese legend from Inoki to Hayabusa (it’s unfortunate he’s paralyzed) to Muta to Onita. Parham’s next victim is apparently from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. (Didn’t Lance Storm used to say that?) At the age of 14, his opponent was a phenom and at 18, he receives a shot at the Certificate of Awesomeness. Let’s see if the Dungeon helped Newsome’s chances against Parham. 1. “Los Numero Uno” Chad Parham defeated Bo “I’m from Calgary, Alberta, Canada” Newsome to retain the Certificate of Awesomeness. Chad is such an awesome heel that the local faithful is chanting “Bo.” Parham dominates by executing his patented delayed vertical suplex and a senton splash. Newsome capitalizes on Parham’s thingyiness with a jawbreaker, but his lease is voided by heading to the High Rent District. Parham finishes off the overmatched Newsome with a leaping piledriver. COMMENTS: This was exactly what a squash is supposed to have: complete dominance except for a faint hope spot. 2. The New Wave (Steven Walters & Derek Driver) vs. Talent & Money (JT Talent & Andrew Pendleton III) John Johnson deems T & M the future of tag team wrestling, but it’s the New Wave who dominate the early goings with some nasty double team maneuvers on Pendleton… and I mean that in a good way. Fortunes quickly turn when Walters mounts Pendleton in the corner. Driver becomes momentarily distracted by JT’s Talent and the referee escorts him back to his corner. This provides Talent the opportunity to throat snap Walters on the top rope. Pendleton makes a quick cover before luring in Driver to deliver more punishment on Walters. Walters quickly counters Pendleton with a rana, but Talent is waiting in the corner for the tag. T & M connects with a double team guillotine legdrop for a near fall. They continue their domination with a STO across the knee. (Ouch, that should be a finishing maneuver.) Walters fires back with a tornado DDT on Pendleton to buy himself time. Both wrestlers struggle to their respective corners to make tags. Driver cleans house and delivers a high backdrop to Talent. T & M set up Driver and he ducks in time. T & M brushes off their near collision. Driver seizes the opportunity by dropkicking them into each other. He uses an O’Connor roll on Talent, but Pendleton kicks the teeth out his mouth. Talent makes the cover. However, Walters makes the save with the dreaded enziguri~! To the apron, Walters and Pendleton fight. Walters sends Pendleton flying to the floor with a basement dropkick. Back in the ring with the two legal men, Driver rolls up Talent for the pinfall victory. COMMENTS: This was a pretty good match between both teams. Both teams have some greenness and probably had too much four way at the end, but it didn’t take away from anything. A couple of more outings by both teams like this should help propel their careers. 3. TK Kross pinned Melissa Coates w/Brody Ray Chase. Let’s see, TK Kross has been massacred by Phil Shatter and nearly hung by the Konkrete Gorillas and now he steps into the ring with a She-Man. Boy, I’ve heard of paying due, but this is ridiculous. Somehow, Kross has the audacity to kick out of a pinfall attempt. Somehow, a miracle for Kross appears in the form of Don Matthews. Matthews stomps a mudhole in Brody Ray before distracting Coates. Kross takes advantage by rolling up Coates for the victory. Afterwards, Chase is forced to save Coates from a well deserved spanking. Matthews decides to take his frustrations out the hapless Kross with the Lariat of Doom. COMMENTS: Ask yourself how does TK continue to place himself in such bad predicaments? Kudos to Kross for taking tremendous beatings. However, he had no business cleanly pinning Coates. It takes away from Coates’ mystique by losing cleanly losing to a wrestler on the bottom rung of NWA Anarchy’s ladder. Kross should have taken a few more losses so that his first victory would actually mean something. 4. The Brokeback Bunch (“Brokeback” Billy & Chris King) defeated the Devil’s Rejects (Shaun Tempers & Azreal) w/”the Reverend” Dan Wilson & the Staff of Righteousness via DQ. So, the Rejects retain the NWA Anarchy Tag Team Titles. The Wild Bunch enjoys a nice pop, but the Rejects immediately turn their hostilities on Buck. Buck fights out the Reject’s corner and makes the tag to King to clean house. Things quickly turn bad for King as the Rejects administer brutal punishment. Azreal makes mince meat of King’s knee with a series of brutal kicks. Even Wilson gets into the act by jabbing the Staff of Righteousness in King’s throat. Azreal follows up with a nasty cut throat neckbreaker for a near fall. King almost scores a victory with a rollup, but Tempers connects with an inverted neckbreaker. With King lying in the corner, Azreal lands the running knee. Azreal sets up the Ted Bundy, but King slips out to make the hot tag to Buck. King sends Azreal flying over the top rope via leaping clothesline. This leaves the two legal men in the ring. Buck lands a big elbow drop and makes the cover, but Azreal makes the save with the Staff of Righteousness. (Why????) The Rejects attack Buck, but King makes the save with a chair. COMMENTS: Why did Azreal use the Staff of Righteousness to prompt a DQ when they weren’t clearly in danger of losing the tag titles? They have faced more daunting situations and have conquered their opponents cleanly (like the Awesome Attraction.) The finish would make sense if the Rejects were in danger of losing. Also, it’s hard to buy the finish given the Wild Bunch are only a mid-tier tag team. If anything was accomplished, the Wild Bunch proved they have improved and might make good tag champs down the road. - Backstage, Sal Rinauro apologizes to Seth Delay for accidentally hitting him several weeks ago. Delay laughs off Rinauro’s futile attempts to resuscitate their relationship. To cement his apology, Rinauro offers Delay an Austin Creed afro. Delay pulls it off and offers a handshake, but Rinauro’s too excited and heads off to the ring. After commercial, Delay doesn’t seem like himself tonight. If course, he walked out on his partner a while back, so you would expect him to not act normal. Before their opponents can head out, Delay brandishes a pair of brass knuckles and kapows Rinauro. The crowd shares their applause for the villain. Delay brandishes the scissors and he proceeds to cut Rinauro’s locks. Then again, maybe Delay is reliving the Gift of the Magi, but I guess not. Delay finally ceases and desists when the referees plead with him to stop. It’s going to take a horrible act of evil for Delay to be booed. 5. Jay Fury w/Nemesis pinned Slim J w/Nemesis Slim takes the fight to Fury right away and scores near falls. Nemesis grabs Slim’s leg by the ropes and Fury gains the advantage by catching Slim springboarding off the ropes with a powerslam. After commercial, Slim eludes a senton, but Fury cuts him off on the top rope. J manages to counter Fury and ranas him. As Slim prepares to finish off Fury with Anger Management, Nemesis blindsides Shadow. Nemesis grabs a chair and smashes Shadow. Slim sees what is going on and turns his attention to Nemesis. Slim commandeers the chair and sets it aside. Fury lands a swift kick to the gut and uses a cross arm inverted powerbomb for the win. Afterwards, Nemesis enjoys lambasting the cracker. He reintroduces the noose to hang Slim, but Shadow makes the save. Nemesis skips town, shoulderblocks Shadow and pulls Fury to safety. Shadow grabs the mike and declares war on the Gorillas. COMMENTS: This was a piping hot segment to end the program. OVERALL: Gaffs easily standout in NWA Anarchy’s booking because almost everything is done properly. There were questionable calls on this week’s program (Wild Bunch vs. Rejects finish, Kross cleanly pinning Coates, and Delay heel turn). Delay is so playful and charismatic that it’s nearly impossible to jeer him unless he commits a heinous act against a major face in Anarchy. Even so, this episode was much better than almost anything on TV. Plus, the wrestling was good as usual. DOWNLOAD: http://www.thesuperstation.tv/nwaanarchy.html NWA TOP ROPE 3RD ANNIVERSARY REPORT by LARRY GOODMAN The NWA Top Rope Third Anniversary show was an incredibly mixed bag. There were many entertaining aspects to it, some of them quite bizarre, and few things that were truly horrible. It was frustrating in the sense that with judicious editing, it could have been a first-rate show.
The show drew a crowd of 125 to the Wilson County Fairgrounds in Lebanon, Tn. Top Rope, which has been running Lebanon on a monthly basis, is Mike Sircy’s project and uses much the same talent as Showtime Allstar Wrestling. Sircy hoped for a bigger house, but folks in the Nashville area aren’t accustomed to paying $20 ringside.
On the plus side, both main events, featuring title defenses by NWA World Champions Adam Pearce and MsChif, produced very good matches.
But it was also a show mired in too much talking and diluted by some abysmal postmatch segments.
Mike Sircy opened the show by introducing 88 year old Corsica Joe as one of the 2008 inductees into the NWA Hall of Fame.
(1) Chrisjen Hayme won a 10 man battle royal in 9:47 to earn a title match of his choosing. Ric Santel hid out under the ring. The order of elimination was “The Graduate” (and current NWA Main Event announcer) Jason James, the infamous Ernest T, former Nashville Fairgrounds ref Anthony “Freak” Ingram, Tatsu, Larry Cooter, Josh Crow, who took a wicked looking bump. It was down to Chris Cane and Chrisjen Hayme against Drew Haskins as the lone babyface. Haskins pulled the ropes down to eliminate “Colossal” Chris. In a carryover from their storyline in SAW, Santel came from under to again make it two-on-one against Haskins. Haskins caused Santel to take a bump off the top. Some botched up timing there. Haskins dumped Santel. Finish was well done. Haskins skinned the cat and tried to flip Hayme over the top with a headscissors. Hayme blocked it and dropkicked Haskins to the floor.
Cane attacked Haskins and gave him a snap suplex on the floor. Cane brings non-stop intensity. Like Todd Morton back in the day except even smaller. Ring announcer Brook Binkley told Cane she could step on him. She’s a big girl. Cane insisted that he deserved an NWA World title shot. “I’m going to give you something you don’t want,” said Sircy.
Pearce came out and made short work of Cane. He told small fry to hit the bricks. Pearce then disrespected the fans and their hero, “Boogie Woogie Boy” Gary Valiant. He turned the fans against him bigtime. Pearce told a lady that was crosseyed to get herself some Laser Vision surgery. Sircy had a message from Boogie – polish it up because I’m going to pin your ass. Pearce said he would retire if Boogie beat him.
(2) Arrick Andrews beat Kliff Hanger with unsolicited help from Hayme to retain the NWA Top Rope Junior Title in 12:35. Hanger (formerly Big Rig Bully) said he always got screwed in Top Rope. Andrews was over strong with the crowd. Hanger claimed Andrews was cheating and started shoving ref Bobby around. Bobby knocked Hanger down. Hanger offered a handshake with his fingers crossed behind his back. Hanger took over. He did the (Blackie) Fargo strut. His offense looked really good, but the nonchalant, arrogant stuff didn’t fit for a title match. If the challenger doesn’t care about the title, why should the fans? Andrews made the comeback with Hanger taking great bumps- feet flying out from underneath him like Jim Cornette. Hanger was in the midst of fighting off a sunset flip when Hayme showed up. Hayme clocked Hanger and Andrews pinned him.
Hayme wanted to cash in his money on the bank title shot on the spot. Hayme blew Hanger off bigtime and Kliff got in his face. Andrews said he wanted to beat respect into “the neon punk.” Sircy gave his OK.
(3) Chrisjen Hayme beat Arrick Andrews to win the NWA Top Rope Junior Title in 5:37. Hayme capitalized on Andrews’ fatigue to dominate the match. Andrews caught Hayme in a dragon sleeper. Hanger came to ringside to disrupt Andrews. Andrews hit a superplex and Hayme kicked out of his delayed cover. Andrews came up empty on the Dragon’s Curse. Hayme went for the Blue Thunder Bomb, but Andrews countered with a roll up. Hayme had Andrews beat with a roll up, but Hanger stooged it off to the ref. Hayme then reversed an inside cradle to pin Andrews clean. That had to be a screw up. Refs like Bobby make the NWA look low rent. Still, I liked the way Hayme was made as a major player in one night.
Sircy was out AGAIN. He said Hayme would have to defend his newly won title against both Andrews and Hanger on July 12.
Sircy said the midgets were no-shows and he was not happy about it. Somebody asked if Cane was still there and suggested ring announcer Brook vs. Cane. Brook said she was up for it. That’s actually a match I would like to see.
Homicidal Tendencies (Kory Williams & Vic the Bruiser) came out for their match wearing zany plastic fire chief helmets. I think the music was Jerry Lee Lewis but not “Great Balls of Fire.” Williams said Sircy had spontaneously combusted at the last show, so Tendencies went out and got 43 minutes of rigorous training to become certified firefighters. Hysterically funny stuff. Sircy vowed to get revenge for the fireball he took from Vic on the last show. Sircy invoked the Gilbert name. Kory said Tommy Gilbert was too old. “Mike, is this a black thing?” said Kory. The fans chanted “Oreo” at Tendencies and their bleached blonde valet.
(4) Tribal Nation (Lennox Lightfoot & Indian Outlaw) beat Homicidal Tendencies (Kory Williams & Vic the Bruiser with Jesse) via DQ in 16:42. It immediately broke down to an out of control brawl between two teams locked in a bitter feud. Williams and Lightfoot brawled out the front door, around the building and reentered from the back door. Once inside the ring, Nation dominated with double teams. The tide turned when Williams dumped Outlaw, and Vic worked him over with a 2 by 4. That was gold. Williams applied a camel clutch ala Iron Sheik. Vic used a Texas Cloverleaf. I guess Vic felt the heat was dragging on too long, as he ended up pushing Outlaw into the tag. Lightfoot gave Tendencies a double Four Winds Tomahawk Chop and the meeting of the minds. Tendencies channeled Bruiser and Crusher out of the 70s by trading forearm shots to the chest, then nailed Lightfoot out with a double STO. Tendencies laid both members of Tribal Nation out with catapult combo moves. Jesse sprinted to the dressing room and returned with plastic trash bags. Tendencies knocked the ref out and duct-taped the trash bags over the heads of Indian Nation. A second ref, Chris (refs apparently only have first names in Top Rope) DQed Tendencies.
The postmatch was ridiculous. There’s no way fans can suspend disbelief when the business is exposed as badly as it was here. Rather than getting help for his top babyface team, Sircy left them smothering in the ring and got into a debate with Tendencies. But Tendencies proved to be the master debators. While this was going on, a female fan started wailing on Jesse and got hauled out of the building by security. With Nation still laying there suffocating, Sircy promised a big surprise for Tendencies on July 12.
Intermission number two with Lexie Fyfe and MsChif out for autographs. (5) MsChif pinned Lexi Fyfe to retain the NWA Women’s World Championship in 12:45. MsChif is an outstanding choice for world champion – she an excellent wrestler with lots of cool submissions and an awesome gimmick. She made the challenger look like a million dollars while also putting on the most technically sound wrestling performance of the show. Fyfe is no slouch herself. MsChif’s gave Fyfe’s eardrums a workout with her blood curdling shrieks. The first cool spot saw MsChif get an octopus that Fyfe countered with a side slam. Fyfe bounced MsChif’s head off the turnbuckle with the rocking horse. MsChif used a seated chickenwing stretch. MsChif got Fyfe with in a bodyscissors/camel clutch combo using the ropes. MsChif missed on a mad dash into the corner, and Fyfe rolled her up for two. MsChif floated over on a vertical suplex and pounded Fyfe from the mount, then hit a picture perfect standing moonsault for a near fall. MsChif applied a cutthroat hammerlock submission that looked like sheer torture. MsChif rolled through on a high crossbody, but Fyfe was in the ropes. Fyfe hit a back suplex and it was both women down. Fyfe reeled off a series of pinning combinations. Ref Chris got bumped. MsChif sprayed Fife with the green mist and pinned her with the Desecrator. I haven’t seen a women’s matches anything close to this level in Georgia.
(6) Adam Pearce beat “Boogie Woogie Boy” Gary Valiant (with Miss Boogie) to retain the World Heavyweight Title with the help of Paul Adams in 19:37. If the stuff that took place afterwards wasn’t such an abomination, this match would have been the perfect fit for the situation. Simple but effective. Boogie was in his element. The crowd was 100% behind him, and Pearce played the role of the touring heel champion to the hilt, so this match had great heat. When confronted by the local hero, Pearce bounced to the dressing room and got the “bald headed geek” chant. Boogie outsmarted Pearce early and took control. The fans chanted “Ten-uh-C.” Pearce threatened to leave if the fans didn’t quit the verbal abuse. Sircy (yep, on the mic again) said he would call the NWA BOD and have Pearce stripped if he did. Boogie told Pearce he was in for a Tennessee ass whipping. Pearce gave Boogie a beating in the corner. Boogie’s selling and bumping were spot on. The fans got behind Boogie. His rally fell short when Pearce stepped aside and Boogie’s shoulder hit the post. Pearce worked on Boogie’s arm and acted like he had the match in the bag. Pearce cut off a comeback with a single arm DDT. Pearce choked Boogie with his wrist tape. Referee Chris finally caught Pearce red handed. Pearce went up top. Boogie cut him off with haymakers, and Pearce crotched himself on the top. The punching in this match was textbook stuff. Boogie hit a superplex. Both men up at 7. Boogie made an agonized one-armed comeback. Boogie Blaster! Boogie threw an arm over Pearce. 1-2…the bell rang. Boogie thought he had won, but Adams had rung the bell. The ref pulled Boogie’s arm down. Pearce hit a piledriver for the pin. Adams announced Pearce as the winner.
If the show had ended right there, all would have been well. The finish was well-timed and left a number of ways to follow up. Instead, Homicidal Tendencies hit the ring and bloodied Boogie up with a chain. No Top Rope match would be complete without Sircy on the mic. Sircy had somebody special on the phone. Boogie had to lay in the ring forever and a day, while Sircy tried in vain to patch the call through on the PA. While this was going on, a male fans went nuts trying to get at Tendencies. Security had a hell of time subduing the guy. Adams got creative and hung the towel stained with Boogie’s blood over the ropes. Back at the announcer’s table, Reno Riggins was ringing the bell like crazy. I think that he was his subtle way of trying to move things along. Sircy finally gave up and announced Jimmy Valiant was coming in on July 12 to team with Boogie against Tendencies. Adams slid some chairs in the ring, but before Tendencies could use them, Andrews (Boogie’s partner in SAW) made the save.
NOTES: Michael St. John and Reno Riggins did live play-by-play for an upcoming DVD release of the show…Both Nashville wrestling shows, NWA Main Event and Showtime Allstar Wrestling, ran the same Adam Pearce promo on their shows Saturday. It’s a weird situation, because Sircy is a regular with SAW where he has a recurring TV role as a member of the Board of Directors, but he’s also an associate NWA member through Main Event’s Mike Porter...NWA Top Rope returns to Lebanon on July 12 with Jimmy Valiant & Gary Valiant vs. Homicidal Tendencies, and Andrews vs. Hanger vs. Hayme for the Junior Title...According to James, "man of mystery" Tyler Clemens, his broadcast partner for NWA Main Event, was in the house.

NWA Pro Wrestling: Celebrating 60 Years of Excellence NWA EMPIRE'S BUFFALO BEATDOWN II ON JUNE 21ST On Saturday night June 21st, NWA Empire will once again pack fans into St. Johnsburg Firehall (7165 Ward Road (Route NY-429) in North Tonawanda, NY) to welcome the summer season with hot wrestling action. Plan to arrive early as the last two NWA Empire shows packed the hall with a number of fans forced to stand to watch the action.
ITS' STUDENT VS. TEACHER IN MAIN EVENT OF BUFFALO BEATDOWN II The cocky and arrogant NWA Empire Heavyweight Champion Jonny Puma may just be facing his biggest challenge yet at Buffalo Beatdown II. He will be defending his title against one of the biggest men he has ever faced in his career when he squares off against Blackjack Phoenix.
However there is a major twist to this story. It was revealed not long ago on the official Kayfabe Dojo Wrestling Message Board (http://s6.zetaboards.com/kayfabedojowrestling/index) that Puma and Phoenix have a very interesting past history together, as evidenced by this post to the message board on April 7th by yours truly:
"I mid-March, Blackjack Phoenix posted this is another thread: Trivia quiz...Anyone know who trained Puma? It may answer the reason why Puma will NEVER wrestle me!"
In response I posted what I had heard and read about a year ago on Wikipedia, and that was that Puma was trained by the Derwalds. Phoenix then posted that this was misinformation.
Well I searched, and searched, and searched, and finally found on an obscure site the real story. Puma was trained by Blackjack Phoenix!!!
So that's why Phoenix says that Puma will NEVER wrestle him! Puma knows the master will take the student to the woodshed and kick butt!"
NWA Empire owner Hellcat quickly signed this match, knowing that Student vs Teacher will relate to a full house at Buffalo Beatdown II. Well it's true that Phoenix may have taught Puma all he Puma, its' a sure bet that Phoenix did not teach Puma all that Phoenix knows. The only real question is whether Phoenix has a plan to combat interference from Puma's running mates Ice and Chris Cooper.
WHO WILL MASTIFF CHOOSE AS HIS TAG PARTNER AT BUFFALO BEATDOWN II? The psychotic "Mastiff" Will Christianson faces a major challenge at Buffalo Beatdown II. In recent months he has tried to take out both former NWA Upstate Heavyweight Champ Jimmy Olsen and former NWA Empire Heavyweight Champion Pepper Parks. He attempted to take both out by smothering them with plastic bags during separate singles matches. Fans had not witnessed such a despicable act since September 12 1989 when hardcore icon Terry Funk tried to end the career of "Nature Boy" Ric Flair in the same manner during a WCW telecast. Olsen and Parks have made a pact to watch each other's back, and talked NWA Empire management into forcing Mastiff into facing both of them in a tag team match. So far no one has stepped forward to team up with the crazed Mastiff, but he promises to have a partner in tow at Buffalo Beatdown II. Who would be crazy enough to team with this lunatic? Be at Buffalo Beatdown II to find out.
BIG RIG HAS YET TO ANSWER FALCO'S CHALLENGE FOR BUFFALO BEATDOWN II To say that Ron Falco is angry with Brodie Lee is sort of like saying that the Chicago Fire was a small blaze. This is may be the most angry fans have ever seen Ron Falco.
To refresh fans memories, Brodie Lee inserted himself into a match a NWA Empire Blizzards & Brainbusters pitting Final Solution (Falco & Eric Everlast) against Rhythm & Booze, kicking Falco in the face and costing he and Everlast the match and their partnership (due to a pre-match stipulation stating Final Solution would have to break up as a team if they lost).
At NWA Empire's Second Anniversary show, Falco attempted to call out Brodie Lee, stating that he wanted The Big Rig one-on-one at Buffalo Beatdown II. As of yet Brodie Lee had refused to answer's Falco's challenge for a match. However Falco is adamant that Brodie will be facing him on the 21st, posting this to the official Kayfabe Dojo Wrestling Message Board recently:
"Now you (fans) all know my admiration for you all, but as I stated on the last show, this show (Buffalo Beatdown II) will NOT proceed unless Brodie Lee accepts my challenge. I will be in the ring at the start of the show and I will not move until Brodie Lee shows up. You cost me a lot Brodie; the chance at being a champion again, my partner, and my pride. I want payback and the good people of Buffalo want to see me kick your ass."
Sounds like Falco means business. But will Brodie Lee be man enough to show up and face Falco? That's the real question.
HARDCORE BRAWL SIGNED FOR BUFFALO BEATDOWN II Two guys who know each other very well are "Glamorous" Glenn Dillon and Mike McGee. They tangled many times over the past few years in OSPW, and continued their rivalry upon making the smart career move and jumping to NWA Empire. At Buffalo Beatdown II they will face off once again. This time however they will be locking horns in a hardcore anything goes match. Both men are former OSPW Hardcore Champions so they are no strangers to brutal take-no-prisoners matches. Whoever wins this brawl, the real winner will be the fans at Buffalo Beatdown II

This show is loaded from top to bottom and promises to provide fans with a great night of wrestling action.
WARGAMES! NWA UPSTATE LOOKS TO SILENCE RIVAL 2CW ONCE AND FOR ALL AT CONTINUING THE TRADITION NWA Upstate and Syracuse's Squared Circle Wrestling (2CW) have been at odds since this past January when several Upstate wrestlers and owner Hellcat made a successful debut at a 2CW show. This was followed up by a contingent of 2CW "stars" attempting to disrupt a match between Ricky Reyes and D-to-the-Icky at NWA Upstate's February Fallout. That resulted in a challenge pitting Reyes & Dicky against 2CW's "Slyk" Wagner Brown & "Hurricane" John Walters, in which the invaders were disqualified when they became frustrated at not being able to defeat Reyes & Dicky and instead attacked referee Andrew Mollon.
Just recently NWA Upstate owner Hellcat was ambushed and suffered a severe leg injury. It has been strongly suggested that a contingent of 2CW wrestlers were behind the attack. Not one to cry and whine, Hellcat decided to not get mad, but to get even, challenging 2CW to a five-on-five WARGAMES style cage match at Continuing the Tradition. This will mark the first time in NWA Upstate history that the steel unforgiving cage will be used in consecutive shows.
Team Upstate will consist of NWA Upstate No Limits Champion Gabriel Saint, former NWA Empire Heavyweight Champion Pepper Parks, "Exceptional Icon" Everlast, and both members of the Ring Crew Express.
They will face off against a 2CW team consisting of former 2CW Champion Dizzie, Jason Axe, Isys Ephex, J.D. Love, and self-professed spokesperson for 2CW, Zaquary Springate III.
TNA'S "SHOWTIME" ERIC YOUNG CHALLENGES DORING FOR NWA UPSTATE TITLE AT CONTINUING THE TRADITION "Dastardly" Danny Doring is in his second rein as NWA Upstate Heavyweight Champion, and arguably the most hated man in NWA Upstate. The brash and arrogant Doring will have his hands full at Continuing the Tradition. His opponent will be TNA Wrestling's unorthodox "Showtime" Eric Young. The last time Young was in NWA Upstate was back in 2006 at Monster's Brawl. That night he challenged then champion Brodie Lee for the title, but was refused a title match. Eric then defeated Brodie in a non-title match. This time around Eric's match will be with the title on the line. Given Eric's lucky streak in matches, Doring could be one of the shortest reining champions in Upstate history.
OLSEN LOOKS TO EVEN THE SCORE WITH BCL AT CONTINUING THE TRADITION Speaking of NWA Upstate Champions, former champion Jimmy Olsen will be in action at Continuing the Tradition against the man who cost him the title. No not Danny Doring, the man who beat Olsen for the title. I'm talking about the Notorious BCL, Big Cat Leemer. At February Fallout 2008 Leemer's interference cost Jimmy the title in a match against Doring. Then at Anniversary Anarchy IV Leemer struck again, interfering in a steel cage match between Olsen and Doring, costing Jimmy the victory in his championship rematch. Jimmy Olsen may be outsized and outweighed by the massive BCL, but he promises to make Leemer pay for crossing him.
SIGNED: MCCHESNEY VS REYES II AT CONTINUING THE TRADITION Another wrestler looking for revenge is "Fabulous" John McChesney. At February Fallout he was the victim of a very aggressive Ricky Reyes. Reyes defeated McChesney with a choke hold that caused McChesney to pass out and bleed from the mouth, much like the victim's of WWE's Undertaker's Triangle Choke Hold. McChesney needed a few months to heel up, both physically and mentally from the match, and is now looking to even the score with Reyes.

Friday the 13th represented nothing but good luck for the Blacktinos. Team Texas ( Mr. Destiny & Chaz Taylor) were supposed to face the challenge of Austin-based Total Devastation, but the challengers were unable to make the trip due to sudden illness and they were replaced with The Blacktinos by NWA-SW promoter Ken Taylor. The Blacktinos are former champions having held the belt last year from Feb 9 - Oct. 12. Taylor said The Blacktinos next title defense will be July 19, and most likely be defended in Dallas against a yet to be determined opponent.. A new Texas Junior champion was crowned on June 13, at VFW Cypress in Houston, to replace Cyclone, who broke his ankle back in April and was forced to relinquish the NWA Texas Junior Heavyweight Championship.
The match to replace the vacant title was between two former champions - David Stahr and Golden Prince - to determine a new Champion.
The two fought back and forth in front of a packed house. Golden Prince attempted several vicious assaults, but David Stahr used the crucifix pedigree, to win the match. This was a night that we will not soon forget. The experience of running a show outside of California was a first for Pro Wrestling Revolution and we have to admit, we had no idea what to expect. Many things had to be perfect in order for a show like this to actually happen and everything came together when it had to. It was great to see so much talent from many different areas of the world, all come together and put on a show that was nothing short of incredible.
The opportunity to work with many legends on this show and getting feedback was appreciated and absorbed as much as we could. Hearing ideas from legends like Harley Race, Nick Bockwinkel, Pat Patterson, J.J. Dillon, Ross Hart and so many more, is very special.
What put the “cherry on top” so to speak, for the event was the match between Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Go Shiozaki versus Pro Wrestling Revolution’s Oliver John. Going into the match, on paper, there was a big expectation for this match, but what ended up as being the result was a 5 minute standing ovation from all in attendance that ranged from fans to legends. That alone can tell you the magnitude of this match. This was definitely a Main Event anywhere… ANYWHERE. We look forward to a possible Shiozaki - John II taking place sometime again this year.
Thank you to everybody that came out to help and make this a success!
