An incident took place Friday morning on Panamanian television involving wrestlers The Heartbreak Express and Nick Fame, who were promoting tonight's Revolution Xtreme Wrestling event in Panama City.
During an appearance on Telemetro's "Tu Mañana", which translate to "Your Tomorrow" in English, the three threw down the flag of Panama and proceeded to stomp on it. The incident provoked outrage among wrestling fans, some of whom called in to talk radio stations demanding the cancellation of the show.
While a press release was sent out by Shannon Rose stating that Panamanian President Martin Torrijos, among other government officials, had gotten involved, we have been unable to find any news reports to support that statement. We've also been unable to find any press reports that support Rose's claim that the wrestlers and promoters have been threatened with prosecution. Both the promotion and the producers of the show claim that the incident was not planned, however the incident led to the three beating down on Fame's scheduled opponent Kevin Punk when he came from the backstage area, so that throws their claims into question. Thanks to Telemetro.com and La Afición.com for providing additional details.
