(Editor's Note: Aside from a basic spell check these results are being provided in their original form. They were saved from the original IWA mailing list.) September 20th, 1997 Bardstown, Kentucky By: Jim Fannin
Billy the P came out and said that the crowd wanted the sexiest man in the IWA to come out and start the show and that was him. He introduced Dashing Donnie (student at Ian's school) to the crowd and they proceeded to bash Bardstown for losing 67-0 to someone in football. The football team sponsors the show. This drew tremendous heat in the building and Ian came out and destroyed Donnie with a Double Arm DDT, the Curtain Call brainbuster, and the Northern Lights Bomb. Crowd loves it as after every move Ian asks the crowd if they want another one a la 911 in ECW. First match is Terek the Great vs. Twiggy Rameriz. Great wrestling match. Terek uses high flying moves and mat wrestling and Twiggy uses the mat wrestling. Crowd into the match as Terek is a favorite in IWA. Terek wins with the Terek Brainbuster in 15:03.
Rollin' Hard defended the Food Stamp Championship versus Cash Flow. Rollin' was loved by the three black men in the second row and they exchanged props before the match. This was the best match that I have seen Rollin' in. Cash Flow hit the Flip Elbow after Ben and I begged him to do it. Ian rents out his ring on Sunday and last Sunday Cash Flow gave me the Flip Elbow and it is a great move. Cash Flow missed the Alabama Jam and Rollin' was able to get the pin. Great match wrestling wise and comedy wise. Buddy Landell defeated The Wild Child in the worst match of the night. Not much to talk about with this match as Landell throws a couple of chops and wins with the Figure 4 quickly. Debbie Combs defeated Sherri Martel and Angel in a three way match to retain the NWA Women's title. This match wasn't much as Debbie pinned Angel with I believe a rollup. Sherri was outside the ring and left immediately after the pinfall. I think she may be leaving the IWA for awhile as Debbie Combs feuds with Angel. Angel attacked Combs after the match and called her a piece of trash as she left. Sal Sincere retained the IWA title in a great match against Bull Pain. Bull turned face before the match when he refused to forfeit the match at the request of Sincere. Bull and Sincere beat each other up badly. Sincere busted open his mouth when Bull gave him a DDT. Billy the P was stuck between being NWA or being Bull's friend and left before the match started. He came out and cheered for Bull and the ref got caught up in watching Billy. Billy tossed Bull a taped up piece of something thin but Sincere got it and hit Bull and got the pin. Billy did not turn NWA with this finish and he stayed with Bull and helped him to the back.
The War Machines defeated Ox Harley and Cash Flow (subbing for the MIA Koloff). Cash took a beating from the War Machines and was pinned with a Doomsday Device. Ox Harley called Cash a loser after the match and Cash swore revenge on Ox. In the main event, Ian Rotten and Blaze won the NWA US Tag titles from the Misfits. Great match. Good wrestling from Blaze and Ian but the Misfits weren't too impressive. They spent more time spitting at Ben and myself than wrestling. When they did wrestle, they made comments to Blaze's girlfriend in the audience. The ref wouldn't let Ian use a weapon so Ian powerbombed him and then went for the pin on one of the Misfits. Rico came in and made the three count for the title win. Ian and Blaze dedicated the victory to the fans and went and shook everyone's hands.
Great card and next Thursday shouldn't be any different.
