(Editor's Note: Aside from a basic spell check these results are being provided in their original form. They were saved from the original IWA mailing list.) October 28th, 1997 By: Jim Fannin The attendance at last night's IWA card was hit hard by the Survivor Series Flashback and the Hogan-Sting contract signing as approximately 125 fans came to the show. Ian started the night with his weekly chat giving IWA news and updates of the fans. Sal Sincere will not be stripped of the IWA title after all as he will defend the title next week. Ian also held Rollin Hard's one month old baby and introduced her to the crowd. Flash Flannigan then came out and announced that he has a restraining order against Ian. He then read a letter written in crayon from Ian's parents that begged him not to hurt their little boy. Ian ran him off eventually and it was a funny piece. At this time I realize that the chairman of the Kentucky State Athletic Commission, Jack Kearns, is in attendance at the show. The first match was Shark Boy against The American Kickboxer. Shark Boy handed out autographed packages of gummy sharks to the fans that have cheered him every week before the match. With Kearns watching, there were no crazy acts just straight wrestling. Kickboxer used his many kicks and Shark Boy used basic wrestling moves and they built the match decently for 10 minutes. After Rico announced the ten minute mark, Kickboxer went into overdrive and started his high impact offense. He hit Shark Boy with a spin kick and followed with a good brainbuster. Kickboxer went up top for a moonsault but Shark Boy rolled out of the way. Shark Boy went up top and hit his top rope drop kick for the stunning upset. Kearns gets a phone call but is still watching while he is on the phone as match number two pitted Brett King against Hard Rocking Danny Dee. Danny Dee, making his return, worked over the leg in vintage Flair style for the first half of the match. King recovers and mounts his offense and every kind of elbow that you can imagine. He did do a good clothesline and side slam but the plethora of elbow drops began weighing on the fans and they let him know about it. After King missed the top rope elbow, Danny Dee went up top for a flying crossbody. King was able to catch Dee and turn it into a Northern Lights bomb (Michinouku Driver) for the pinfall and the second upset of the night. Jack Kearns finally leaves and then we get the most perverted match I have ever seen as Mad Man Pondo took on Debbie Combs. Pondo started the match with plenty of sexual harassment as he grabbed Combs behind, her chest, and got her in position for some canine pleasure. Combs gained the advantage with a low blow and delivered a bodyslam that surprised the crowd. She then delivered about ten low blows to Pondo and got the pinfall for the third upset of the night. The fourth match was put together last second to replace the Bull-JC match due to no shows. Rollin Hard and Cash Flo fought in a falls count anywhere match for the IWA TV title. Cash Flo assaulted Rollin with a chair with an attack from behind during Rollin's ring entrance. Rollin was able to turn the tide and hit a good side slam on Cash Flo. Cash struggled to his feet only to be met with a Cactus Jack like Suicidal Clothesline that sent both men crashing to the floor. Rollin tried a small package at my feet but Cash kicked out. Cash also kicked out after a DDT on the floor. Both men bled from the chair shots. The end came when Rollin and Cash were fighting on the outside of the ring on the ring apron. Rollin hit Cash with a Diamond Cutter that went through a table on the floor and got the pin. After recovering, Cash demanded one more shot at the TV title and he would put up his hair. Next week, title vs. hair rematch. The semi main event saw Ian Rotten take on Ox Harley. Ian started the match by controlling with wrestling. He hit a dropkick to the knee and followed with a leglace and a spinning toe hold. Ox got to his feet and was able to suplex Ian. Ox picked him up and Ian gave him a backbreaker. Ox got to his feet and put on the sleeper but Ian dropped down into the jawbreaker. Ian hit an impressive kick that is hard to describe. He went for the boot to the gut but Ox caught his foot. Ian then spun upside down and hit him with a kick to the jaw. The crowd gave Ian a good pop and Ian went for blood. He grabbed a chair and started pummeling Ox with it. He hit a DDT onto the chair while they were fighting on the floor. Ian then set up a table on the floor and threw Ox back into the ring. Ian picked him up for a powerbomb and tossed him over the top rope. Ox did a flip of sorts and ended up going through the table face first instead of on his back. Ian threw Ox back in the ring and gave him the double arm DDT onto a chair. Billy the P ran out from the dressing room and jumped on Ian's back to stop him from getting the pin. Ian gave Billy the double arm DDT but when he turned around, Ox hit him with a slop drop onto the chair and got the pin. Ian got mad at the ref and gave the ref a tigerbomb and a fisherman's buster. Next week, Ian vs. Ox The main event was a 2 out of 3 falls match between Flash Flannigan and Tracy Smothers. The match started with Flash stalling and using the, "he pulled my hair/tights" routine. The two locked up and somehow Flash took Tracy down and put his feet on the ropes and held the tights for a quick pin. Flash celebrated to the crowd and Tracy hit a sunset flip to quickly tie it at one fall a piece. For the third fall, the two went at it like the previous two matches. Flash started to dominate with moves like a top rope dropkick and an enzurguri and then a top rope elbow. Tracy was able to connect with a pump handle slam and he reversed a Russian Leg Sweep into a reverse Russian Leg Sweep that lands almost like a DDT. Flash gets a chain and hits Tracy with it. PAUL DIAMOND makes his IWA debut by coming from the back and telling ref that Flash used the chain. The ref restarts the match and Tracy wins with the schoolboy roll up. Tracy faces Sincere for the title next week and Diamond will wrestle Flash Flannigan.
